New cedars should be pruned the year after planting to give them their first training pruning. Don't forget to fertilize them for growth.
Water well, not very often but abundantly. Adding compost at the foot of the cedars will ensure good growth.
Many suggest pruning young cedars in April-May and September to strengthen them and ensure a solid form for the first two years or as soon as growth really starts.
